Life Class Barcelona 1 (2017)

This pastel painting of a model at a life class is located in a gallery which occupies an old palace not far from the Picasso Museum in the gothic district of Barcelona. The model, the piano, the player, and the model playing on the piano in the painting on the wall reinforce each other, and how little the practise of art changes. The angled light from the courtyard is important.
