Wild Poppy Study 1 (2017)

Another “first study” – well nearly. Before reached this stage I had been playing around collaging prints of earlier paintings. The main flower was an inverted and reinvented poppy from a previous painting and the background grew out of an earlier study of a storm front. The ivy was from another source. I like the looseness of the painting and particularly of the background landscape.
