Balzac (2012)

Rodin modelled his sculptures, usually in clay or plaster, and they were then cast in bronze or carved in marble by craftsmen under his guidance. This is one of many studies he did in preparing his final commemorative statue of Balzac. Below it is a small head of one of the Burghers of Calais.
