Denmark Morning Mist (2015)

The sun struggled through the mist to light a hill – a scene observed on a trip in 2009 with a party of Chinese officials to explore low pollution power plants. Part of my work on the China Council for International Cooperation on the Environment and Development – an advisory body to the State Council and at this time the Premier. I was appointed to the Council by the Chinese at the suggestion of Alexander Downer. The painting was done in 2014 from images captured in 2009.
