Goya contemplates Raphael (2015)

Another but smaller pastel of the Goya sculpture in context. There was a forthcoming exhibition at the Prado of late works by Raphael advertised by the usual huge banner. From my vantage point on the road above and behind Goya, it looked all the world like he was in conversation, or at least mutual examination, with the Raphael woman. It has a warm white mount with a simple warm honey coloured gallery style wooden frame. An unusual picture, much warmer in feel than the other Goyas.
