Uplands Lisianthus (2022)

A strong painting using an approach that Raeburn, Lawrence and Reynolds would understand very well. The composition follows their tradition of great full length portraits with the estate stretching out into the distance. But this time although the foreground trees are exotics the “estate” is firmly located in Australia.

As Dom Maunsell put it “they get a lot of good painting for not much money”.
